some of the best things in life . . . we forget

What I mean by this is we forget what things we love to do etc.

For example lately I have pick up this really bad habit. I have started to read again. I forgot how much I enjoy this. I am actually reading at night instead of watching TV. I know how can this be!!!

Another thing I love but have forgotten about is a great salad. For me this means lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, red peppers, possibly a green onion, carrots and bacon peaces. This is just Delicious. Yes there is no salad dressing but I think the bacon makes up for whatever healthiness I saved by not using it.

Broccoli. Yes I love Outback's which is smothered in Butter, but last night we made it and had no cheese so we used some spicy queso. Man oh man was that delicious, so good I mad some for lunch today with my left over salad from last night.

Peanut butter and OK 2 things here apple slices and celery. Eating the celery makes me think that I am back at home (NY) with my moms cooking. weird I know but I have made it so little that I forget how great it is.

this is a little weird. . . maternity pants. I know but here's why the stretchy waist band. no need to button, zip, unbutton or unzip. I know it was on of those things I realized I like about being pregnant.

Fruit. I realize this every summer. I love fruit, most berries will be eating without thinking. Plus all the other random fruits. Thank goodness we were blessed with fruit on this earth. Someday I would love to have raspberries and strawberries of my own (plants). Also another thing that reminds me of home, and my grandparents house.

(no this is not mine but it looks like it has about the same amount of stuff in it)

rearrange a room. Living in a small space it is very rare that I get to rearrange. But today I rearranged the kids room and I love the way it looks. If we had to we could add another crib and not lose any toy/bed space. I think this gave me energy to do things today that I normally don't do

When all the clean laundry is put away. I hate folding laundry. but I love the feeling that I get when I have put it all away and there is no dirty laundry anywhere. This rarely happens at our house, but when it does I actually have a small sense of accomplishment.

My thinking is . .

Your Thinking is Abstract and Random

Your Thinking is Abstract and Random
You are flexible, adaptable, and creative.
There's many ways that you can learn - and you're up for any of them.

You relate well to other people, and you do well working in groups.
You can help people communicate together and work with each other's strengths.

You don't work well with people who are competitive or adversarial.
You prefer to work toward a common goal... not toward conflicting goals.

Yeah I hate working with competitive people because I like to be the most competitive person out there, no not really but hey whatever.

life has slowed me down

OK so I will explain further on Tuesday but life has been crazy/stressful/crazy this past week. but to post something new I have to post on my favorite TV shows, just 2. so FYI if you have not seen the finales do not read my rantings below.

Bones - OK so in the episode leading up to this Booth steps in front of a bullet to save Bone's life. the show begins with a funeral. it was his. I'm crying my eyes out!!!! how can you get ride of the 2nd main character especially a good looking one (look at the photo). well yeah he really wasn't dead a whole FBI trying to get a bad guy thing. move on to Gormagon. yeah good luck figuring this out if you have not seen the show. Well as it turns out Zach, genius guy Zach, is his accomplice.

NCIS - where to begin with the frustration. OK yeah Jenny was fine to die she had a minimal part anyway. but when the new scum-bag director sent Ziva back to Israel, Tony on some boat, and McGee to another department. what are they doing? trying to kill this show like the writers killed "House" man I hate that show now with the "new" staff. please please let September get here and give me some relief because I will not watch this show with an almost whole new cast. Blah!!!!

OK got that off my chest. Hope your shows ended better than mine and you all make it though the summer.
oh by the way just finished our book club book. Wednesday Letter. oh my goodness!!!! loved it read it in like 4 hours (with kids awake!!!!) cannot wait to discuss next Thursday.

Mothers Day

Well lets just say life has been a little extra crazy lately. So a brief overview of mothers day. Chris was actually not working which meant this was the first time in at least 2 years I had help on Mothers day. Also my brother Rob was here in town. Will took his photo.
Chris took Will shopping with him and let him pick out what he wanted to give me. He was so funny when he gave it to me. They were large red plastic cups. Something that we have used many times since Sunday since the more liquid you can get in the cup the better it is. I also got these correll plates. I have been asking for them for about 4 years!!!! So I was really excited.

On Monday we went to RC Willey's clearance store and I got a new Kitchen table!!!!! Once again I am so glad to be eating on something that I cannot fold up and put away. So that made my day. Chris was wonderful and made a great dinner.

Other more exciting things. Jeffrey has become a monkey and has learned how much he loves throwing tantrums. Sometimes they are just really funny to see. Below are photos that show some of this other favorite things

Annmarie is almost potty trained. Yeah!!!!! we have started and stopped many times. But for the most part she tells us when she has to go to the bathroom. The incentive this time Ice cream shakes. Hey whatever works right.

Will continues to get bigger and bigger on Sunday he went up on the stand a sang with the primary children. it was sooooo cute. He is going through what we hope is a stage of anger. Wow I really love having him yell at me. someone please tell me this is just a stage. And he has discovered shaving cream. much to his daddy's dismay

Below are a lot of photos. I finally downloaded them from my camera. So enjoy.

Small Towns

Visiting Wyoming is interesting. Consider for example that the entire state of Wyoming has only 500,000 people in population for the entire state and I come from a city in Arizona (mesa) which population was over 400,000 when I left. Lets just say Laramie was very small. It was so small we visited all the city parks in one afternoon.

The university was interesting. The city is built around the university. So in other words we can say the university has its own elementary school so the student teachers can teach their without having to travel over 100 miles in any direction to student teach.

The Law School was the nicest building on campus. I was happy to visit but the town was so small I would have to leave the town in order to change my mind about attending school there. Not that I did.

I am not trying to insult small town folks I am calling it reverse Beverly hillbillies. I came from the big city to small town life and the culture shock will be exact opposite of all the people whom come to the big city to get ahead. I will be going to a city of 15,000 to further my professional life.

OK Karen typing now. I will tell from the perspective of our kids. "Were going on a trip" The first trip was to McDonald's in Cedar city. Then they though we were going home. yeah right. Next was a trip to get gas, sonic and "go pottie" in Provo. Then we got Ice cream from Little America. for those wondering yes it is still .50 a cone. nice deal in the middle of no where. On to the Hotel.
They thought this was the coolest place ever. We paid an extra $8 and got a room with 3 queen beds. Totally worth every penny. Then after jumping on all the beds we went swimming in the indoor heated pool. There is nothing like swimming for a treat for my kids. On to a restaurant that I remember as a kid. Perkins. mostly the name because there was a family in my ward growing up etc. Well the food took forever, and the service was terrible, as well as the food. Not a good impression with Chris.
Then we went to Walmart (Kmart is the only other option that we found). Good some fruit and some other necessities that we forgot. Is it ever really a trip with out forgetting something? Back to the hotel and on to bed. Well that was the plan. Chatty Cathy aka Annmarie would not stop talking. Oh my goodness!!!! how does anyone ever sleep in the same room as their kids!!!! I think she was the last one asleep out of everyone. I knew she could talk but really. The next day was the tour of the campus, playing at the park(s) and Chris meeting with 2 of the 3 Deans, along with an institute instructor. Then we were going to play dinner safe and eat at Subway but there was this ad in the hotel thingy for a local restaurant. Shari's I think not sure if it is a chain but wow 180 change from the previous night. Great service good food and the kids ate all they got and there was also a great desert. OK so food really is where my heart is you should all know this by new especially when I'm preggos. Went back to the hotel went to bed got up and left to come home at midnight (WY time) it is so nice to drive though the night. Sleeping kids, less traffic etc. So we all finally woke (except driver) when we stopped for gas south of Provo. Chris was trying to put in a DVD after breakfast and we discovered something terrible!!!! the DVD player was broken!!!!
It had lasted us a little over a year plus 4 months. So worth ever penny that we paid for it. Chris did a wonderful job entertaining the kids as we drove the last 5 hours or so. Jeffrey is turning into a daddy's boy!!!! Finally !!!!

Things I learned on this trip.

1. I love my van!!!!! it runs great, now has great brakes (thanks Steve), and is so easy to move from the front to the back etc.

2. Laramie is a small town. I told Chris that if we go I will never shop at walmart or Kmart ever again after 3 years of having no choice.

3. I need to sleep in a different room than my kids. I love them but when they see me they think they need to sleep with me. Plus there is no alone time. I need a break from the kids to love them more and the bathroom does not quite fit that mold.

4. Chris really wants to go back to school. So those who want us to stay in Vegas start praying that UNLV has people that do not accept and then accept Chris there.

5. I love Chris. I know this is silly but when he was playing with the kids the ride home it was so cute and made him look so cute too.
6. I am a terrible photo taker. I took the camera, but totally forgot to take any photos. There were some really cute moments too. Someday I will learn sorry.
A side note I found something on my door from someone who reads my blog. Just wanted to say thanks it made my day. Wish you would have put your name so I can say thanks in person. Thanks a million.

Travels!!

Hey just an FYI no posts until at least Wed or Thurs. we are making a trip up yonder to WY. Maybe this will give us some great insight
