Who says there is no owie

On Sunday I walked to church with Will and Annmarie. Jeffrey had foot and mouth disease. yeah long story. So Chris went to an earlier ward and stayed home with the younger 2. I had gotten new church shoes the day before. I had a blister when we got to church. On the way home I walked barefoot 1/4 of the way because I figured my new shoes did not need blood on them. So I got a band aid. Any one with kids knows all kids want a band aid on. Yesterday I needed a new one so I asked Will to get me one. Soon all the kids had band aids and Jeffrey needed help putting his on. Chris put it on his hand. As soon as the band aid was on he started saying oooh, and crying because his hand hurt. I would kiss it and he will still "cry." The emotional roller coaster finally stopped when I took it off about 10 min later. How funny that he thought he really had an owie. He is one funny kid.
his latest thing is putting on my sweatshirts. he actually wore my USU one for about 4 hours including naps. Is my house really that cold?
another side note Chris and my trainer bought us new shoes for Christmas and oh my, I have not had a new pair of running shoes in about a year and a half. There is such a difference. Maybe I will need to buy shoes a little more often (yeah right like I will actually do that) Thanks to Bobby. Chris forgot his shoes yesterday so it was a good thing we got that present.

Another year another . . . bruse?

Well lets just say that we almost made it a whole year with out Annmarie getting a black eye. needless to say yesterday it happened. Her past shiners have come from a swing (those baby swings at the park are very dangerous), and there have been other things she has run into, I just can't remember. Here is her shiner from last night. She and Will were playing and she ran into the computer table. Not sure how it was with her eye, but hey I have stopped trying to figure out. She how nicely she poses for these photos? I didn't even need to tell her to close her eye. Such a smart girl

Chrsitmas

Christmas was enjoyable as always. We tried much harder this year to focus more on Christ's Birth. The kids kept saying they were going to get Him a new car (toy) for his birthday. We tried to empathize that He would really like for us to make good choices. We made Snickerdooles (thanks Jenn they tasted wonderful) and I think this will be a new tradition. The kids loved rolling the dough into balls. I even let Will roll the ball into the Cinnamon and sugar. They loved helping.
Here is a random Jed photo. He is a big fan of his thumb

Around bedtime Will and Annmarie are in their room getting ready for bed. They kept saying they were matching. Usually this means they are the same height or something like that. Then they came running out to show me they were both in Will's Jammie's. I was so sad the photo didn't turn out but here is the best I could make it look. They were so cute.

Chris was able to come home for a little bit (he was working) The kids loved seeing him. They all slept in until 6:30!?!?!?! what was up with that. 6am is the usual wake up time. Some times I think they only need stockings form Santa. Really what kid needs more than some yummy candy? Jeffrey was very content.
Will and Annmarie loved the presents and knew who each one went to. They looked at the first letter. It was very helpful. Jeffrey thought every present was for him. and did not want to share.
One of the funniest moments from the morning was when Chris got some new Jeans. Annmarie took them and started to put them on saying they were hers. We mentioned she might need a belt. Off goes Jeffrey and brings back Will's belt. here they are trying to put it on. So funny. Annmarie kept insisting they were her pants. I think she likes teasing her daddy just like he teases her.

Another addition to the family. . . I know I know

Well I do not know who to thank for this new addition, but I wish I did. NO it is not another a baby not yet any way maybe in a week or two. just kidding. I received a package in the mail yesterday and I laughed sooo hard when I read the enclosed card.
"So sorry to hear about the death in the family. Perhaps this will be a small comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with you."
So the death in the family is a really really old blow dryer, I posted about it a week or so ago.
I have a few ideas of who it is. Will I every find out we shall see. I am not good and not knowing things. But thank you thank you thank you. a blow dryer is not huge on my priority list, so thank you. and the card was hilarious. hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and remember the reason for the season.
this is the wonderful gift, it is a little more purple looking in person.
also they must know my feet get dry in the winter because they also included awesome foot lotion. thanks thanks thanks again.

Fun in the snow

See below for more info on the snow.
Will caught on to making snow balls very quickly and guess who was him main target? The camera man. Since we do not have "cold"weather stuff it was a short trip outside and some very cold hands. Jeffrey caught on that it tastes great, a lot like ice. He keeps saying ice, I think he wants to go out and eat some more. We've got to teach him about yellow snow. Who knew. Annmarie was the best dressed hat, gloves, boots (thanks again Kim I know I mocked you but these boots came in handy!!!) She fell a few times and made snowballs and wanted to stay out longer but hey the boys hands were bright red. Will did not like the rewarming of his hands. Maybe we will have to buy some snow stuff and go play at Mt Charleston some time soon.
Oh yeah Jed he was sleeping soundly inside the warm house

Winter Wonderland

YEAH!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! what more can I say. WE have had light dustings in the past here (early morning only). I love this!!! for the first time in a long time it really feels like Christmas is really coming. HOpe all here are enjoying it as much as I am. Will did not belive me that it was snow first he kept telling me it is rain. Here are some time lapse photos. I would guess they are about 3 hours from start to the last one. Maybe we will brave the cold. If so there will be more photos.

EWE!!!!!!!

Ok so I was talking on the phone to my mom and turned to see Annmarie on my Chair like this

What is she eating so happily? Baking Soda. I guess when there is nothing else in the fridge (just kidding) that's what is left to eat. She was actually rubbing it on her face? I don't know what is more odd. I know I've posted way too much today. I guess I actually had time . . . no not actually just no desire to do what I am suppose to do.

A sad day

Last Sunday one of my dear dear friends passed away. Most of the Sherwood girls know this friend and have seen and spent time with her. Yes my blow dryer died. I think it is at least 15 possibly more years old. I have yet to get a new one due to the trauma this has caused me. What if my next one does not live as long? I don't like short term relationships. I am a long term kind of gal. I only want one that will do all the fancy things I need done to my hair. I need it to blow hot air. Do dryers do this now a days? I'm not sure I'm ready yet but maybe in a little while I might have to start a new relationship. After all it is cold outside and wet hair and cold air not a good idea. If any of you have a special bond with your hair dryer let me know. I need a long term friend.
PS there are 2 other posts from today below that might be a little more exciting

Baby its cold outside!!!

So this morning we woke up and heard from Chris that it was suppose to snow today. I got excited and looked on weather bug. It says there is a 50% chance of rain/snow the next 3 days!!!! The west side of town has had snow today. Chris called today at noon to brag that he was driving through a snow storm on the west side of town!!! Yeah he will pay later. So since it was going to be cold I "bundled" up the kids as we left for the gym this morning and planned to go to play group at 10:30. Needless to say when I got out of the gym it was colder than when I went in (this was not the deterrent) and it was now raining. It has been raining ever since, and the temp has kept dropping. I love this weather. It makes me want to curl up in a blanket and drink hot chocolate and watch a sappy chick flick. Since that will not be happening I will settle for curling up with a blanket (and at least 1 kid) on the couch and watching kids shows. Here are some photos of what the kids looked like at 7:30 ready to brave the "cold." Yes I realize the 40 is relative but come on those who live here are not used to this.
Ganster Will
Annmarie loves the colors
Jeffrey's head is large but not as large as an adults. . . yet

Thanks to Monica for Jed's Hat.

Cute photos

Here are some photos of Sat and Sunday. It was a busy weekend we had Madi and Gideon over sat and Sunday nights (not sleeping but just for a few hrs). The kids love having others to play with.
This is Jeffrey on Sunday. I had to wake him to go to church so his hair was not combed and he was eating as we were leaving but he looked sooo cute I had to get a photo

A Christmas FHE Tradition

Last year the Kids and I joined the Freeman's and Graham's on a trip to the Belliago to see there Flower area decorated for Christmas. We went again this year and invited others but the only one who took us up on the offer was the Murdock's. They were fixing lights so the middle section was blocked off. It was still really pretty. Will had the camera most of the time so . . . yeah just look at the photos. The new photo on the top of the blog is from our trip there. I love visiting here during the spring because everything is made out of flowers, and smells soooo wonderful.

This is when all were still happy.

Here is a photo of Mya and Sophia

The huge Christmas tree

In case any of you wanted to see the intricate flooring there. Will is happy to oblige

The cherry picker basket. Will thought this was very important to take

See how much they love each other

Here is a pretty good shot by Will of the Grahams

last shot then off to get Ice Cream (that is a whole other story just ask Chris)

We really had a good time. Best off all it was FREE!!! hopefully this new tradition will continue next year.

Random thought

OK so I have really enjoyed listening to Christmas songs this year. But there is the Band Aid song that has me a little puzzled (Do they know its Christmas time). I think that is who sang it. The line goes "there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time" OK, If I am not mistaken Some of Africa is located in the southern Hemisphere. And this means there winter (when snow would come) is our summer. Plus what is not located in the Southern Hemisphere is located close to the equator but no further north than Florida. (this is a guess from looking at a map.) Yes there is a little bit of Geography in this post. Sadly I do enjoy the song but after actually listening to it is year this line has me just a little bugged.
The next post will have photos and an update from our fun family home evening Monday night

Singing Children

Chris is Posting this

On the way to the gym the children often ask to listen to music, they ask for "prophet," meaning the song 'We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet.' (Karen has a Church CD in the CD player) They sing along with the words pretty well. If they don't know the right word they usually improvise and use a word that sounds close. In one of the phrases that is supposed to sung is "the wicked who fight against Zion will surely be smitten at last" Will loudly and very clearly sings, "the wicked who fart against Zion will surely be smitten at last."

I did not know passing gas could doom you to hell. It is from the mouths of children.

Annmarie

The post color is also for her

I know that I usually express frustration with Annmarie when I post but this is a non frustration, she is cute post. Today as I was feeding Jed she comes in the room and gets on the bed then starts singing. What is she singing? well the one I remember the most is this "I just falled off the bed." repeat. Then there was "I found the blanket for my baby." the blanket was the washcloth. I love that she is singing what she is doing and making up her own songs. I remember making up my own songs when I was younger. Glad that I get to hear her songs. She also says some of the funniest things. The other day she was responding to a question that I asked her and she said "actually no I don't want it." What 3 year old actually says actually, especially in her cute 3 year old voice. As she has been running around in Will's shorts lately it reminds me how cute a little girl can be especially when they are a little tom boyish. I remember a niece of mine that found her brothers clothes and just wanted to wear them. I think soon she will be in that stage.
I guess that mostly today I just wanted to let Annmarie know that yes I do get frustrated with her but I love most of the things she does, and she is the cutest 3 yr old out there. No I am not biased. And I do love her. She is my favorite daughter as of today.

An early Christmas Present!!!!

My oven died late April. and we have been using a toaster over the last 6 months. which is funny because in my blog when I wrote it broke, I said it would probably be 6 months. Well almost exactly to the day I got an Oven!!!!!! I am so excited. I am ready to make snicker doodles!!!! They are my new favorite cookie. Costco's really are wonderful but cost etc, but my mom made great one's while she was here and hopefully I can repeat that feat. Here is what the new one looks like. It is nice to actually know when the oven has reached the right temp. Our old oven was probably 15 years old. Thanks to Chris for a great present!!!!
