Ten on Tuesday

1. Soccer is almost over. . . yeah. The weather this year has been miserable. We are hoping for 1 game (3 left) that is not cold and windy.

We are way to cheap to pay for photos so here is our free one :)

2. This is what Henry does every week. just chills in his jacket and rain boots

3. Chris thought is was warm so he wore shorts and a T-shirt. needless to say he put on Will's sweatshirt to help keep him warm.

4. Thursday night Jeffrey had his Kindergarten concert. It was great. His teacher did a great job a letting them sing fun songs. We didn't have good seats so all our photos were blurry :(

5. Friday we spent most of the day cleaning out the garage and other parts of our house. Our city has a yearly big junk trash day. Every one puts the stuff they don't want on the curb. People come from all over searching for "treasures". Saturday morning the trash comanies come and pick up what ever is left. It is a great day. While cleaning out. Chris found a way to keep Henry out of trouble.

6. Friday night we headed to Cherry Berry (self serve yogurt with a groupon!). Henry let the secret out of the bag that he knows how to say please. or well when he wants something he will sit down and we will feed.

He is not waiting very patiently here for Chris

7. After Cherry Berry we went home got on bikes, trailers and and attached a tandem to Chris's bike and headed out for a ride. It was great! the temps were perfect. Needless to say we have been on 2 more rides since Friday night. Now to find me a better bike that has brakes that work and a seat that is not hard as rock.

8. Jed loves to use my phone, Henry loves to have his photo taken. Well here is the best of both worlds! I love my kids and I am so lucky to be their mom.

9. Chris decided we need to sing a bit more in the house. Monday night after family home evening we had each kid pick a song and tell us why they liked it.

Will - praise to the man, because it talks about Joseph Smith
Annmarie - Hark the Harold Angles sing - because it reminds her of Christmas time
Jeffrey - There is Sunshine in my soul today - because there is sunshine in his soul
Jed - I am a Child of God - because it brings Heavenly Father to him (I think he feels the spirit)

I love hearing my kids testimonies grow because of songs. I a=have been singing more at night. I know my voice is not the best but I know my kids have really enjoyed this new tradition we do every night. The kids pick a song from the hymn book and I sing it in the hall while they are in bed. I love the spirit it brings to our home.

10. Chris graduates from Law school on saturday! I am so excited/proud/and so many other things. We did our yearly chalk on the sidewalk for him, but it rained before I got photos of it. Way to Go Chris you are AMAZING!!!!

Mothers Day

I'm thankful that it is never to late to start new traditions. Last year I started a new one and actually continued it. Jill (my sister in law) has a photo with each of her kids taken on Mothers day. Well I've done it for 2 years now and hope to be able to continue it.

Henry 15 months

Jed 4 1/2 years

Jeffrey 6 yrs

Annmarie 7 1/2 years

William 8 1/2 years

Today was great. Chris made a wonderful breakfast, I got in a nap and even finished planning my lesson all before 11 am :)

In the material that was covered for the lesson and what was talked about in class. I was really struck with how much better I need to be to prepare myself for church on Sunday's. Hopefully This will carry on past today.

As we sat watching 2 great church video's tonight I reflected on how much better I need to do so that my kids will have more "protection" for the things that are in the world and the things that will come. Chris has been saying prayers with them each night and I sing a song. Well tonight Jeffrey picked a song I didn't know all the words to and then Jed picked on I had no idea. So I went and got the Hymnal. I just came down from  singing to them for over 30 min. What I love most about this is that the spirit is filling my house right now. I do not sing well but Heavenly Father does not care. We made good choices today and we are being blessed with having his spirit with us. I cannot think of anything better than how I feel right now. What a wonderful Mothers day gift that I just gave to myself. I'm not saying I'm this perfect person. I guess I'm saying I wish I would have discovered it a long time ago and most likely we would have been feeling this way a long time ago.

Also I am so thankful for my mom. She truly is the best mother ever. She has always set the best example. I hope someday to be like my mom.

what's been happening

Life has been crazy! No post last week because I was to busy packing etc for ragnar and our trip to Boston.

Henry loves being outside he climbs up everything, and apparently he can get down a "rock wall" (on the other side of this photo) with out hurting himself. I don't know how he did it. but he did.

Jed ran into another kid at school last Tuesday. I should have gotten a profile view because it was nasty!

Last saturday I joined the smart phone group and got a free Iphone. I love the running aps. Having a better camera at my disposal but I must say I do not like the phone. If I call you or hang up on you I'm sorry I'm learning!

Early Wedensday morning Chris and I got on a plane with our friend Kelli Gear and headed out to Boston to run a Ragnar relay race. We went a day early because none of us had ever been. Things we learned. Don't stay in Revere. Don't mention you are from NY and get a rental car if you are not staying downtown. Wed night Michelle joined us. !

We got to see Harvard (it is a gated school) and see some nice rows of houses.

Thursday we headed to downtown Boston and loved the 70 degree day. (it snowed in Iowa and stuck!) we walked the freedom trail. And saw cool things

Lunch was a Cheers. I must say they have great burgers and fries!

Then off to Fenway Park. Chris loves the Red Sox's. The tour was really cool, even for a Yankee's fan.

my favorite sign

Me, Kelli, and Michelle in the dougout

Chris, Me and Michelle above the green monster

These stores are everwhere!!! sadly I didn't get my favorite kind

Off to the races! We met up with Kris and Owen and my dad Thursday night.

The first thing Friday morning we were off. It was a bit chilly being right next to the ocean. I was runner 1

I add these next 2 because they made me laugh. Apparently I have a very serious look when I am running

What do you do after you run 8 plus miles? eat Dunkin and drink chocolate milk.

Here is my Dad getting ready to run. He did amazing! I hope when I am 71 I can still run Ragnars.

Chris did awesome as well. I have only done 1 ragnar without him and I love running with him. He does a great job taking care of me. So lucky,

After we were all done running (photos usually stop after leg 1) we headed to a beach
Don't be fooled it was a wopping 40 most of the time. It was great running temps but cold otherwise.

I love these girls. I would take them on any race with me! (oh anywhere too)

Chris wanted proof that he stood in the Atlantic

Our team. The other van had 2 friends of Kris's and some of their friends.

We had a great time! The it was time to go home. When we got pick up at the airport we heard the dreaded news that no parent wants to hear from someone who was watching our kids. They were not so good. OH how this just put a huge damper on the whole trip. We both felt and still feel terrible. SO needless to say we have been a little extra firm with the kids. Many tantrums have occurred. on resulted in this.

Yes she pulled her shelf out of the wall plastic stud things and all. She left some nice holes too.

We are so thankful to the kind kind Lexi and Landon who watched our kids. We owe them so much! and we cannot say I'm sorry or thank you enough.

ten on tuesday

1. I must say I am sick of cold weather. I will not say I am sick of rain I am just sick of 30 degree weather and rain. Although the grass is green, I would love to see the tree's start getting blossoms.

2. The kids had soccer on Saturday  I love to see them play. I am amazed how well they do and how much they learn. I am also glad that I am not coaching Will and Annmarie again. Maybe someday I will take my camera and get photos.

3. Saturday night I ran a Glow Run 5k. It started at 8:30. . . lets just say there were over 12000 people there. way to many for my liking. If I sign up to "run" a race, I would like to be able to run with out going over the curb and grass every 15 feet.

4. Chris has 1 more week of school left!!! I cannot believe that. He has done so amazing. I could not be more proud of him!

5. I ran with a friend on Monday. I have not really been keeping track of how fast and far I have been running. I assumed that I am at a 9:30 pace. Well I ran 5.7 miles at a 7:47 pace! I was amazed that I could actually do that.

6. Chris and I get to go to Boston next week. We are excited to see family (my dad, Kris, Owen, and Michelle  hopefully.

7. Will finally sat down long enough for me to cut his hair. It looks so much better.

8. I found this blog post. it is about mothers days and women and how we lie. I was laughing so hard! Love reading fun stuff like this

9. one night this week Chris was helping the older 3 do math. I loved watching them interact while learning. What a priceless moment.

10. Random fact - Chris is the best husband ever. I am so lucky to be married to a man who loves me, my kids and wants to make sure we are all doing ok. I'm not sure what I would do with out him.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Jed got scoped again on Thursday  I was actually quite irritated at the Dr.He was condescending in his tone towards me and was like well we shall see if his EE has come back or if he is just a picky eater. OH I wanted to throw something at him. So much to the Dr's dismay Jed still has a bad case of EE. This means he is back on medicine but it also means he is not throwing up again! Glad that modern medicine works.

2. It has turned cold here again. We have had lots of rain, which I am thankful for and am praying daily for, but I just wish the temps would get up to the 60's or 70's. I just don't want spring to pass us by.

3. Regardless of how cold it is my kids want to be outside playing. Will plays football, by himself, It is quite entertaining to watch. Annmarie loves the park, chalk etc, .Jeffrey wants to be riding bikes or throwing balls onto the roof.

4. Saturday Chris got to take the Elders to Navuoo so one could see a family he baptized go through the temple and get sealed. What a neat experience.

5. Friday night Chris and I went and saw 42. I really enjoyed it. There were parts in there that made we cringe at the way people treated others. Good movie!

6. Sunday. . . there was something about Sunday that found Henry and I and lots of other parents out in the halls. Sadly the day did not end on the most positive note.

7. A few years back we dressed our boys in knickers (sort of) for church. Chris decided that since it was Masters Sunday that they were doing it again. I cringed a bit. But Chris got all the boys dressed and even himself. Payne Stewart was one of my favorite golfers ever. So we told the kids a bit about him. I loved when people actually knew who they were trying to be. another plus My son won the masters. But you didn't know I had a child named Adam Scott ( yes we do but he goes by his middle name Henry)

8. Yesterday afternoon I was taking a nap, then I get a text from Chris telling me that there was a bomb at the Boston Marathon and to let him know what was happening. Sadly there was. sadly people have been killed and many many lives changed for ever. While watching the footage over and over I was impressed with those who after the bombs went off  ran towards the terror and did all they could to help those in need. I am so thankful to live in a place where people help others first. I am so thankful to know Heavenly Father's side will win. I am thankful that I know That Christ suffered for the pain for those going through this.

9. I realized that my kids are growing up way to fast. I sometimes wish they would slow down and stop growing.

10 random fact - I love how quickly the brown grass of winter turns to green grass of summer. Love love spring

Here is on of my favorite photos of the week. Chris feeding Henry and Henry feeding Chris.

Ten on Tuesday

1. General Conference as usual was wonderful! A few of my favorite talks. Elder Ellis, Elder Holland, President Packer and Sister Wixom. and a ton others. I cannot wait until i can read and re watch these and the other wonderful talks.

2. We have decided that between 5-8 every night (except date night ) we will unplug from everything and just be Scott's with no electronics. Last night was night 1. It went great. granted it was 70 and we played outside

3. On Tuesday a friend said are you up for 7 to 8 miles on Thursday  I said sure. Well. . . she said it was going to be 7.3 turns out it was 9.5 miles. I survived but wish I would have known a bit better what I was getting into.

4. With us doing another year of school I have decided not to run the first international Ragnar. Sad to not be running with friends and seeing friends in NY.

5. I have 11 runners for the Chicago Ragnar!!! if anyone has captained you know how stressful this can be. Glad to be to the assigning runners stage ;)

6. Chris is getting ready for this semester to be over. It doesn't help that it seems everyone is looking ahead to the "next" stage.

7. Jed Has been throwing up again. So this coming Thursday we are headed to the hospital for another upper GI scope. Hope something is figured out.

8. Will Annmarie and Jeffrey all had their first soccer games on Saturday. It was a great day and they all did wonderful! I love seeing them work hard and sometimes seeing the fruits of their labor.

9. It is funny to watch Will watch sports. He gets so into it. He takes it so seriously. Sometimes Chris and I tease him while he does it just to get him to lighten up a bit.

10. Random fact - I love spring. I love spring in Iowa. Is is truly a rebirth here. The grass goes from brown to green. the birds start chirping. My eyes start itching, and nose is running. But I love this season. I love seeing neighbors I have not seen in months!

For those who don't believe Henry cries here is proof. Will wound up the cord and Henry was not happy

All better now

Not really sure what is happening here but Jed and Jeffrey got their hair cut. Will thinks he is too old for the buzz cut.

Henry kept shaking the bag and would try and get it to fit in the trash can. It was adorable!

Someone would get along great with Aunt Chelly! they both love their mashed potatoes

Henry was playing like this for a good 10 min. It was so cute. I love to hear/see them at this stage

Ten on Tuesday

1. We have made a decision. We are headed to the DC area and Chris will be attending Georgetown. To see how this decision came about see the previous post.

2. Will and Annmarie started soccer last week. Chris said during their practice Jeffrey and Jed decided to get in a fist fight. Gotta love that :)

3. We had Easter Dinner with the Allison's and the Missionaries. We had plenty of food and a great time talking with others. So thankful for great company

4. Jeffrey and Jed got their summer hair cuts this morning. We are hoping this brings spring with it.

5. Annmarie has a brand new shiner. She fell at the playground. She has had the best black eyes out of all of our kids. this makes #3. It really looks like she just put on makeup.

6. The kids have started walking home from school. They love it and think they are so big. I like that they are  getting a bit more exercise.

7. We are getting closer to a full team for the Chicago ragnar. 2nd weekend in June. anyone want to join? we'd love to have you.

8. I got to run outside again last week. Oh how I love it! I cannot express how happy I am to be outside.

9. As it is warmer today than yesterday it really almost feels like spring is here.

10. Jed gets to go back to the GI tomorrow. This probably means there is another scope in his future. Hopefully we can figure out a long term plan of action that doesn't include steroids.

Just a random photo of Henry. I think He likes the Easter Candy.

Random fact. Dodge ball is the best game ever.
