Has it really Been 4 Years!!!!

Yesterday was Will's 4th Birthday. It is really hard to believe that we have had kids for 4 years. I don't feel old enough yet. The plan was to have the party at a close park and have pizza and cake. I know this is what we do with every kid for ever birthday, but hey we are really creative people. Unfortunately it is still way way way to hot here. So after some great advice I changed the park to one with a splash pad. This is basically sprinklers that are on a soft pad. The kids love it. Plus there is a park right there so they get wet and the go play on the slides etc. The kids had a great time and The adults got plenty of time to chat. Will was very excited for this day to come. I think the thing is is most excited for next is for the new baby to come play. This one will happen soon enough.

for some reason every child thinks they need to sit on the holes that the water comes out. Will is no different

Jeffrey is so happy to be running around in the water. It is amazing how the simple things make him happy.

Will had been eyeing this cake at Costco for the last few weeks. It made our choice really easy. Jeffrey could not resist touching the baseball though the plastic.

Yes there is proof that I really exist. I am attempting to light the candle here.

I guess we were a little mean here since we put the candles on the 4 bases and Will could not get them all in one breath, but he doesn't know any different right?

Jeffrey really enjoyed the cake. . . well the frosting anyway.

A few of Will's favorite things

Food - pizza, ice cream, chicken, Peanut Butter, Water only water

TV - Cyberchase, Curious George, Super Why, Word World, and Backyardagains

Games - Wii, Wii and more Wii, oh yes there is also Dodge ball.

Places - Preschool, Primary, Gym, and a park especially with water

Thanks for making the last four years full of fun and excitement. We love you WIll and you are becoming such a huge helper.

Something I said I'd never do

OK if any of you know me you know that I like to listen to music on the radio and not talk radio, morning shows etc. Well . . . I think I am getting older. When Chris is in the car and controlling the radio I actually am listening, paying attention, laughing and getting frustrated. Now mind you I do not turn it on myself. That is still probably a long long long way off. I still have a hard time believing that I listen to that evil stuff. (no not really actually somewhat informative in current events etc)

This last week we took the kids for their photos at JC Penny. I took them all on different days and they did great. Jeffrey was eating the props today. He is getting so big and is talking. Anyone can understand his Please (yes we are very happy about this), Ball, and even Bike. We were following Chris home one day and he was riding the bike and Jeffrey is shouting "BIIIIIK, BIIIIIK" It was so funny. He is such a happy happy kid. Annmarie is going through a wonderful phase that I wish would last forever, no not really I wish it would end now. She is crying, screaming, yelling, and not listening very well. I wish I could tell my self this will be over in a short bit, but some days it seems like it will never end. Will is loving Pre-school. He is so excited to go and I think he wishes it were more often than it is. He and Annmarie now do "homework" so cute. His 4th Birthday is coming up on Monday. All he wants is the baseball cake from Costco. nice huh. Chris is still riding his bike to work, working out 6 times a week is now weighs less than me. He looks really good and has put a lot of hard work into losing his weight. Hopefully I will catch up quick to him. He got a New truck a month ago. The kids call it the milk truck. Any guesses why? He loves it it fits the whole family in it nicely, and has XM he might never listen to regular radio again. I am here surviving. 2 Weeks from today I will have a 4th child. I got some type of bite a few days ago and apparently it is really infected, (I actually went to an urgent care). Hopefully sometime soon the swelling will go down and I will be able to walk with out a silly limp. Sorry no photos, I've been neglecting a few things, but hey what do you expect?

How do you do it

After seeing many posts on this type of thing lately I decided to join in.

OK let me start off by saying yes I am crazy, busy, out of my mind, etc (most other things that people have said I will keep to my self) But how do you mothers do it. How do you make sure that you give each kid enough attention. In our house it seems that if you give one attention the other 1 goes crazy (give Annmarie crayons and something to color and she is in Heaven). and vice versa. I think the biggest issue is that Jeffrey is not a child that plays well alone so he demands so much time if I even want to not see dishwasher tabs in his mouth or trash bags over his head. How have you guys found time to work with each kid giving them the individual time that they need. I know this is probably not the best time to be trying to fix this but hey its only gonna get worse right. Not that I regret any of our choices on when we had kids. I love them all so much and would never be happy with out each one.
One of our favorite things to do at night, Chocolate shakes.

Yeah this is a frustration post and any kind hearted suggestions will be taken. Mean spirited ones will only make me cry in my delicate state. hahaha yeah right.

Our budding photographer

I have realized that digital cameras were not just meant for adults. Will loves to take pictures, some OK some not so great but hey he is trying and learning. Today we went to the Temple to pass some time since church was earlier than normal. I brought the camera since I figured hey I need to get better at taking more photos. Well I did not get to take any, Will took the camera and well you be the judge of his photos.

It has also cooled down a bit here, so Saturday we changed up or normal routine of wake, TV, gym home Wii. I said hey I kind of want to spend some times as a family. So we went to the park. The kids had a blast being outside running around and not burning up. I also was good and took the camera, and yes Will took it from me. There are some photos that I am not uploading since I am in them and a little child taking photos of someone bigger always looks bad, but yeah these make me look like an Elephant. This is why thee should never be photos of pregnant women.
The last one is of Jeffrey coming down the slide really really fast. OK no not really he army crawled the whole way down it was hilarious.

College Football

I enjoy watching college football. I have never been way way crazy like some people because I really never had a "team" that was good. Now I am an Alumni but still I end up cheering against them except when they play BYU.
So last night when I can home from a church meeting and I got online and saw that UNLV actually beat ASU (a top 25 team) I almost fell out of my chair.
I was rooting for ASU to win here. (maybe that will teach me) I'm still stunned, and cannot believe that they actually won. Not that this will mean anything because we will still go on to loose at least 5 more games (UNLV). But the best news of last night was the win that USC had. yes I had a source that updated me on the score during my meeting.
I cheer for USC in every game but 1 (ASU). Maybe I should have gone to ASU and given them my money instead. So all you non fans sorry for my rantings but every once in a while I have to post about random stuff.

So many things so little time

Today was the most momentous day ever in Will's life. OK so not really but he has talked about going to school for over a year now and today he got his chance. He started Preschool today

and when I asked him what his favorite thing from today was he said school. YEAH!!!! I know the chance of this actually continuing for the next 14 years slim to none but I'll take what I can get. I think the best part of the day for him was getting to wear his backpack. He brought home 2 papers, (I am going to brag here) and the Letter A was one of them. They were suppose to trace the letters both upper and lower case. He did great!!!!! We actually have been working with him on this so I'm glad to know that he can do it without me saying up, down across. He told me he had no help from the teacher. He posed great for the annual photo, but then the other 2 felt the need to have their photo taken as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Jeffrey is looking a little Matt Rapierish in this photo. Maybe this is just the look Matt gives to me so it looks familiar.

Annmarie was very sad to not be going to preschool, she missed the cut off my 3 weeks. As shown here as Will and Matthew Graham are lined up ready to go in she felt she needed to get in on the photos as well.

So trying to be a good mom to Annmarie today I let her help me finish sewing the quilts for Relief Society and Greg and Nicolle's Christmas quilt (yes I know it is early but hey if I waited until Nov to start they might have it by next Christmas) She was a very good help taking out the pins. (I checked them a second time so hopefully they are all pin free)

It was so cute watching her push the pins in and go though all the colors. She kept asking what I was doing while I was sewing. She wanted to turn on and off the sewing machine. I think I mostly glad that I had the patience today to let her help me. It was fun and took a little longer than necessary but . . . I will not regret it one bit.

Other important or not so important info this is our 100th post. Yes we have managed to post 100 times about things worthwhile and some not so worthwhile. Hopefully I will continue to keep up and do better about listing things the kids do so that I will have some memory of what they did and were like as kids. Since I am a terrible Journal keeper this has and will continue to be our family journal.

One more thing of excitement. Jeffrey went to Nursery last Sunday!!!!!! This means that Chris and I get to go to our classes and actually listen (if we so choose) and do not have to walk around the church with him. He did great (so we were told) and was happier to be there than in our classes with us. Yeah!!!! No photo of the even but here is one that depicts Jeffrey acting just like himself.
