Ten on Tuesday

1. Last Tuesday night Will had a choir concert. It was all the 2nd graders. It was great!!! Will knew the words so well, and even had some great dancing moves. We loved it and were so proud of him!

2. Wednesday 1/25 Adam Henry Scott was born. for more particulars see the previous post. We are so happy to have him here!

3. I love this photo, not because I look so great in it but because of the memory. Jeffrey wanted to sit by me so bad, but he was also very worried about hurting me.  Jed just wanted to be near me as well. This photo just makes me feel loved by my kids.

4. I thought the newborn outfit would have been small enough. . . guess not.

5. I am even more amazed how tiny they look in the car seat.

6. Did I mention I loved the hospital and nurses I was with. they were so awesome and so kind, Here is the stash I went home with, minus a thing of wipes a 2 things of diapers. Such a blessing.

7. Jed just wants to tickle him. love it!

8. all wrapped up in the blanket Aunt Michelle made for him.

9. Here he is practicing his get away from me look.

10. Here is what the others have been up to. . .

Adam Henry Scott

Introducing Adam Henry Scott. He was born at 8:43am 5 lb 14 oz. and he was 18 in long. He was the only child that actually came out crying. He peed on the nurses 3 times in the first 10 min. He is healthy and doing great! We will be calling him by his middle name Henry. Chris has called him Indy a few times. we are thinking of possibly Hal or even Hank. I am doing well and the kids love him.

Ten on tuesday

1. so no baby but he will be here tomorrow!!!! cannot wait and so glad it was moved up from Friday. looks like 1/25/12 will be the next number I memorize :)

2. I cannot express enough thanks to My wonderful sis in law Michelle. She came here for 2 weeks and was truly wonderful. Anyone who has had babies while having babies at home knows how uncomfortable and long the last week(s) are. Michelle was heaven sent. She did dishes, she washed clothes, she swept the floor, she entertained kids, did Annmarie's hair, put up with Chris and I, made dinner, and was a sane person to talk to during the day, and went to the Dr's with me. Plus she let me drag her to my classes at the Y (that is huge because they are not the easiest classes) I don't think I could ever express how thankful I have been for her. She is already missed and will be missed until she visits again :) Thanks Michelle you are the best!

3. While Michelle was here we ( her, I and Chris) played phase ten and ticket to ride. I forget how much I love love love playing those games. It is also so fun to play because people's true nature comes out. Thanks for playing with me guys.

4. We went from really nice weather (say 50's) to freezing cold -10 with the windchill in about a weeks time. It was a rude awakening and made me wish for 1 temp not a wide variety.  On our way to church on Sunday the roads were all icy, it was a blessing we made it there safe. It was also a blessing that it is only 5 min away on flat roads as well. So thankful for that blessing in our lives. Besides that church was wonderful!

5. Friends - I know I have said it before but I will say it again. I love Iowa. the people here are so friendly. I have made friends in places where I never would have thought. At the YMCA I had at least 6 people give me their number so they would know when I had the baby. these people are ones who work there. they work with my children in the child watch, they have been my instructors in classes and they have been class mates. I love that I can go some place like this and make a whole group of friends I never would have imagined.

6. friends part 2 - our new ward is so friendly. There were so many sisters on Sunday who said why are you here aren't you supposed to have had a baby? The thing was is it wasn't the negative attitude they were genuinely concerned. Plus they have all offered help when I have a small gap of coverage from Carmen leaving to my mom coming. I have not felt this genuine of offerings since I was in the Valle Verde ward.

7. So when I found out we would not be having the baby on the 19th I panicked. What was I to do after having the baby and when I got out of the hospital I would have no help for over a week and a half. This was my biggest fear. Well after having a serious cry on the phone with my mom she called American Airlines and was able to change her flight date for free!!! for those who don't know they are the worst. As soon as I knew that there would be a very small gap My panic subsided and I was able to realize that it is much better that the baby wait until his lungs were more mature. So thankful for the calming of the holy ghost and a kind mother who knew just how to talk her daughter out of her hysterics :)

8. Wed I went to a different Dr's office to have an Amniocentesis done. I had a CVS done earlier in this pregnancy which was similar, and was very apprehensive. It hurt. Knowing that they were once again putting a massive needle into my stomach was not the most appealing thing. Well when I got there the ultra sound tech said it hurt much much less. I was still skeptical. But it did hurt much less. It would have hurt less except the baby did not want that needle in there was moving it around and trying to push it out. The Dr (who was not a spring chicken) was very surprised by this and and never seen it. Gotta love having that kid in your belly.

9. Chris has started his 3rd semester of school. I think he was glad to be able to start the semester and be at his classes the first week. He said he likes his classes. He finally got all his grades back (it took over a month!) and I have to say I am so proud of him. His overall GPA is a 3.3. We have been so blessed with his grades. He has worked so hard for them. And I am so proud of him and all he has accomplished!

10. To say the kids are excited for Wed is an understatement. I think Will and Annmarie are most excited to miss the afternoon of school. I am very interested to see how big Jed and Jeffrey are about to look. I will post photos hopefully while I am in the hospital (I should have lots of alone time since Chris will be going to classes and I am not leaving the hospital any earlier than I have to :)

Delayed

After my amnio this morning we learned that this baby is 1. not a fan of needles, he seriously pushed the needle around when the dr put it in. Always love when the Dr see's something new :) 2. That his lungs are not developed enough to deliver him tomorrow. So I will go to my dr on friday and figure out when things will happen.

Ten on Monday

Yes it is not Tuesday but this is looking like it might be just a bit busy for me. so humor me :)

As most of you know I will 99% be having a c-section on Thursday. So I've decided that today will be 10 things I am most excited for. Obviously to not look like this much longer!

1. obviously seeing the new baby and deciding on his name. Wish this task were easier.

2. NO longer having heartburn. Every other pregnancy I have not had issues with this at all. But I have gone through an entire bottle of Costco sized tums. It doesn't matter what I eat, it all gives me heartburn.

3. 6 weeks from Thursday I can go back to my classes (which thankfully I have been going to the whole time while prego's) and participate without modifications. I will probably regret this but how else am I to get back in shape.

4. Feeling like I can walk and move normally. While yes this will take a few weeks I am excited to no longer waddle (which I do really bad).

5. Sleeping on my back and stomach. I miss this so much!

6. Feeling like I am not trashed all the time, yes I know I will be losing sleep but there is something about baby in stomach sleep that never feels restful compared to baby outside sleep that comes so quickly!

7. To see the kids with their new brother. Annmarie and Jeffrey have been playing "family" aka house lots lately and she always has a baby and has to go to the Drs. I love to see Jeffrey around babies he is a totally different kid.

8. Seeing Chris as a dad again. He is the most concerned new father. I love how instantly I can see how much he loves his new child. I love seeing his concern for me as well.

9. Finding out if my body can handle another pregnancy. We would like to have another one but we are very realistic in understanding that my body might just not be able to physically handle another one.

10. being given the opportunity to raise another Child of God. We are such a blessed family right now and will only be blessed more with this new spirit. I only hope that I can give him a home that he deserves.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Chris and the boys plus Michelle made it home early early Sunday morning. It was so nice to have them home. Plus it is extra nice to extra hands during the day. Thanks Michelle, you are wonderful!

2. We saw Jed's GI today and found out why I should really be giving him all of the medicine that they tell us to give him. Now I feel like mom of the year! But it is finally nice to know and understand why He needs all the different medicine, it is not just to control the vomiting it is to make sure that there is not scar tissue in the esophagus.

3. Yesterday I took Chris and Michelle to a new Bosu class at the Y. needless to say I am so glad they still love me :) But I really enjoyed the class, hopefully they did too.

4. I learned that when there are not little hands around the house all day long it actually stays clean. I loved that. for over a week my house was clean when I went to bed every night! loved it

5. Last night Chris did a great family home evening. Annmarie did a photo about the tree of life. Then Chris blindfolded the kids and asked them to find things. they loved it. At the end we gave them string to hold onto then they found their way to Chris and he gave them "fruit" er. . . chocolate when they reached him.

6. Will and Annmarie and I went on a date Friday night. We had a great time. When we came home we played Uno. Love how excited they have become to play card games.

7. Chris spent a lot of time in the car. He drove to Vegas the day after he arrived, then turned around a few hours later. Needless to say he is a little bit sick of driving in the car.

8. Chris and the little boys worked hard while at Grandma Carmen's. They fixed the showers at her house. Chris loved having help with this one.

9. While they were in AZ they went to a farm and Grandma Carmen saw the cow that she supposedly hit way back in the day when she lived in UT. Jeffrey went down a big slide and landed in goat "poop." He proudly tells that story :)

10. Chris and I have decided that we need to be better about our personal scripture study and personal prayers. Even after doing this just for a few days I have noticed a difference and am so thankful for Chris and his desire to do this with me.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Chris left Sunday after church and took Jeffrey and Jed with him to AZ. He has an interview there for a summer internship. It is a pre-baby present for me because with Will and Annmarie in school I am totally childless most of the day. I have a big list of to-dos before the baby comes. So I am a bit excited about this.

2. Sunday Chris and I got to speak in our new ward. Nothing like hey we read your records in last week and this week you get to speak. I think it went well. We played tag team and a kind family lent us their teenage daughter to help just in case. Have I mentioned that this ward is so nice?

3. Friday Will came to class with Chris and I at the Y. There are no weights just push ups, burpee's, lunges, running etc. He loved it! He has been before. The regulars were so kind and encouraging to him. I love my Y (no I have not switched to the close one mainly for this reason)

4. Last night we Skyped as a family for FHE. It was fun. I am so thankful for technology which allows us to keep close even when we are not

5. After Chris and the boys left Sunday we had a lot of time. . . So we decided to take freezer Jam to a few of our friends whom we have not seen in a while. It was great fun and we were glad to pass in evening in a fun manner

6. New Years eve. . . yeah I cannot remember the last time I was up. I think everyone was asleep in our house by 9pm. We are such party animals.

7. The new game of choice in our house is battleship. The kids love playing it. I love it because I don't really have to officiate.

8. The kids have been very Harry Potter obsessed lately. Will has millions of questions. So Chris gave him the copy of the 4th book and put the CD in so Will could follow along. I must say Will loved it and cannot wait for Chris to come back so he can listen again.

9. Have I mentioned that Annmarie is a reading fool? She gets Junie B Jones Books (which I can't stand) from the school library. reads it that night and then takes it back the next day and gets a new one? So happy I have 1 that I don't have to force to read.

10. Jeffrey has been. . . lets just say a handful lately. Hopefully with things going back to normal (sort of) once he comes home that he will settle down a bit. I have found a close preschool for him but am waiting to see what the monthly cost will end up being. He could really use some time in a structured learning environment.
